The Sangiovese itself is a niche product, a product that has very high managment costs, that requires a rate of working hours, if compared to a Cabernet or a Merlot.

It does require to have grapes… that from the very start need to be as perfect as possible, because they have to product a wine that stands up the comparison with the finest wines in the world.

As for Montalcino, we do not seek quantity.. but we aim to a product of exceptional quality, and as a consequence we aim at keeping up.

What did you discover?

In the past we have already tried it and… not only it has the ability of giving this additional chance for dealing with temperature distress, but it has also proved to be useful in lengthening bunches.

This is very important you know, especially as regards to Montalcino, because if the bunch ripening is too compact, can cause some risks such as rotten parts, that can also cause tineoid, grapevine moth, and can pierce the grape and… if the bunch is full, that can really cause botrytis, it can cause some rotten parts, which results in the loss of harvest, besides not having a very omogeneus inner bunch ripening.

We noticed it worked very well.

As we said before, by using products that are very useful for lenghening bunches, with sparse grapes grapes have a different air circulation.
