I’m Ingaramo Andrea, We have a farm in Savigliano, in the province of Cuneo.

We have used your product in 2018 on a pair of rows: It seemed like there was a visible result yet, so in 2019 we increased the surface.

We used it on every Gala and on the Red group. We have late varieties on which we haven’t used the product, but they don’t suffer: the Crimson doesn’t suffer, On the other hand, the Gala and the Red have the rust problem.

We left two rows of Gala as a control group And then during the harvest we have seen that there was actually a lot of rust there and there was none on the other plots. We treat with a dosage of 1,000 liters per hectare and we used the product two times 10 days apart with a dosage of one liter per hectare in both steps and we mixed it with a classic Delan for coverage so it didn’t caused additional treating steps and later we noticed the difference even at the storage.

We divided the boxes: in the treated part, the apple was healthier and where we didn’t treat there was more rust, especially on the calyx-stem region. – And this year I’ve seen a difference between you and him (a colleague) – No no, you could see, there was no rust. – I have seen it when I went to your field too: We struggled to find a fruit with rust, while in his field we struggled to find one without rust! –

Then we have seen those two rows of Gala over there, we started picking and there was a lot (of rust) and we asked ourselves: “How come?”, and I didn’t realize immediately, then I saw on the notebook where I kept records of the treatments.

Immediately I said: “it’s weird that the Gala is so damaged” And then I realised that I had not treated that rows, that’s why… and then we used it on peach but mostly due to the cold problem, we also made two steps.

By the way there was no rust on nectarines too, because peach doesn’t suffer, nectarine is more at risk – but a minor one – .

We used it mostly for his anti-freeze properties, rather than anti-rust’s, that helps a bit, since that if it suffers from cold then it can suffer from premature falling.

In that case we didn’t use it for aesthetical reasons, we used it for aesthetical reasons on the apple instead, because cold wouldn’t have damaged the fruit itself but it would have caused premature falling. – And then, no rift has shown up, not even cracking …? – No, no, at all. – Covering the fruit also helps to counteract cracking in spring, when there could be an excess of rain. –

The nectarine, by the way, in 2018, suffered from some rust after cold spikes, this year they (nectarines) were all clean. But we mostly wanted to protect nectarines from cold. More than snow, the problem are cold spikes that causes premature falling of peach, of nectarine, because there is a fruitlet yet, then it grows a bit, then in June it drops down prematurely.

In that case we used it mostly due to this, then it hasn’t been so cold. On peaches, I checked before: We did it on April 10 and we repeated it on May 2, I made a little longer interval.

On the apple we did it on April 20 and repeated it on May 2, 10 days instead: Here we was at the end of the flowering phase yet, there was the fruitlet yet, We even start the suckering, at 8mm.

What were you using before?

I was using *censored* (competitor’s product). If there was no rust it was because it wasn’t widespread that year, if there was, nothing could took it away *laughing*. Regarding rust, if it’s widespread, you will have it, when there is no rust it’s because it’s not widespread that year *laughing* that’s all! – That one can help a bit but… only if rust is not widespread!

?Then ok, it can preserve them a little… otherwise actually it’s a product that those who tried it, over-tried and tried it again, have seen that if there is rust, it will come! – Of course… this year you made us do 2 steps at a distance of 10 days instead, compared to the first year when we did only one step, – but that year there was much rust, a patina came out but there was no rust – while doing two steps like this, we got a pretty good result.
